Questions
Can the FIRMAN T07571 Tri Fuel run Lasko 755320 ceramic heater, high?
Runs. Running draw 1,500 W fits within 7,500 running watts, and published startup 1,500 W fits within 9,400 starting watts.
What watts were compared?
Generator: 7,500 running W and 9,400 starting W on gasoline. Appliance: 1,500 W running, 1,500 W startup.
How long will it run?
Fuel runtime depends on total load. Published runtime: Up to 12 hr at 25% load.
Where did the numbers come from?
FIRMAN spec card: gasoline 9400 / 7500; LPG 8450 / 6750; natural gas 6900 / 5500; L14-30R, 14-50R, L5-30R, 5-20R GFCI; 8 gal; up to 12 hr at 25%. Lasko lists 120 V, current 7.5 A to 12.5 A, and energy output 900 W to 1,500 W. High is 1,500 W. A resistive element does not have a separate motor surge, so surge is set equal to the high setting. The thermostat cycles in real rooms; this entry assumes the high element is on.
Safety first
- Run a generator outdoors only, at least 20 feet from the house, with the exhaust pointed away from doors, windows and vents. Never in a garage, basement, shed or crawlspace, even with the door open.
- Carbon monoxide is odorless and can kill in minutes. Keep battery CO alarms working inside the home.
- Never backfeed a house by plugging a generator into a wall outlet or dryer receptacle. It can energize utility lines and kill a lineworker or a neighbor.
- Connecting to home wiring requires a transfer switch or a listed breaker interlock with a power inlet box, installed by a licensed electrician and permitted where your jurisdiction requires it.
